Hello, I am here for a bit advise as need to replace brake pads on all corners, dealer quoted £380 incl vat for supply and fitted genuine Hyundai brake pads. Can anyone suggest good quality brand which I can get fitted by local garage ?

I've used Delphi, Pagid, and Bendix. If I can get them from Eurocarparts (ECP) or GSF Car Parts, I will. I used Bendix when GSF started selling them and they were a good price, but they seem not to sell them anymore and I think Bendix and Pagid are now the same, and Pagid are a lot more expensive than they used to be.  GSF sell Delphi, but I also look online to see if they're cheaper by mail order.

Whatever you do, use www.partsouq.com and search using your VIN to get the part number for discs and pads. You can then go on the Delphi and Pagid websites and search for their part number that cross-references the Hyundai part. Don't assume the parts shops know what the parts should be based on your reg number, they sometimes get it wrong.

On my 2015 1.6 CRDi, the last time I replaced the front discs was in July 2021 and they cost £80 for the pair. I last replaced the rear discs in April 2021, they were Bendix, £60. Front pads I changed in September 2020, Pagid, £37, and rear pads changed in October 2023, Pagid, £24, although I'd bought them in Jan 2020

Those prices are just for the parts, no labour costs as I do them myself.

Thanks Brendon, I m inclined towards Pagid based on some recommendations of other ppl as well but will surely check up on parts number based on vin as the price difference is crazy between independent garage and main dealer very different from what I had experienced in India there main dealer are much more competitive for Hyundai

Funnily enough, when I took my old i30 to the dealers for a service, and they told me the front pads and discs needed replacing, they gave the choice of genuine Hyundai parts or cheaper 3rd party parts, which I thought was weird for a Hyundai dealer to offer non-Hyundai parts on a cat that was still under warranty.

When I first changed the rear pads on my current car, I bought some genuine Hyundai pads I found for £42, as the car was still under warranty. The quality looked better than any other pads I've used. Once you have the OEM part number, you can search using that number, you might find someone with genuine parts on offer.

If it was a toss-up between Pagid & Delphi I'd go for whatever I can get cheaper. Pagid started off cheap when it was a newish brand and was heavily promoted, but now it's been pushed upmarket and it's being undercut by brands I've never heard of. The only brand I found disappointing was Brembo. You may also find some brands include the shim plates that the pads slide in, which saves having to clean and polish up the old shim plates. If you wanted to have new shims and bought them separately that has to be factored into the total price.

I've only used be Bendix pads, and OEM front rotors. On our 09 i30 never had any issues after that. New brake pads going on next service.
