I’m having a serious issue with my 2010 Hyundai i30 (FDe, petrol 1.4, manual transmission) and would really appreciate some advice.

While driving, the engine stalled out of nowhere. Since then, I’ve had trouble getting it to start. Sometimes the engine/started properly and engine runs for a few seconds, but then it stalls again. Other times, it won’t start at all (usually just after it stalled) - I mean it not even cranks. It seems like something is cutting power to the starter (and fuel pump).

I took it to a mechanic, but he’s stumped and can’t figure out what’s causing the problem and suggests to find more specialized workshop before starting to randomly replace parts.
There’s no “Check Engine” light on, and he haven’t been able to pull any error codes. I’m not sure where to start with this. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas on what the issue could be?
