hi bumpkin,

Its a small world. My parents were just over in Scotland. They did the whole Europe thing and went to visit family in Scotland and my Dad had to go to the Isle of Man to see the bikes race!

More good news today, a delay in finances means an extra few days wait on the car. I hate banks! I am living one of those ANZ ads (have to be in Aus to get it)! They can say they can give me the money, but someone has to be bothered writing up the paper work. I'm on holidays...maybe I can just go into the bank and do the paperwork for them, no charge!

Very frustrating m8.. I was a banker for 19 years from 1975 to 1994.. when I first started you could do an overdraft with a handshake .. but not now apparently..

They have just bought strict new guidelines in now that mean no lender or even rental company can commit you past a certain % of your income... More paperwork and more delays

Hi audio and welcome!
Paperwork? What paperwork? It's just a matter of a copy-paste on a PC

All sorted, I just left a message with someone at the bank and said that I was thinking of taking my home loan somewhere else. Well guess who just called me back to say they had sorted it out and that I need to come down to sign the papers...looks like I will be getting that new car today!

I hate being a prick...but sometimes when you have to deal with them.

Got my car!  :D

I was too busy driving it to take pictures but will post some up tomorrow.

Also I worked out the wheels are the ones off the 2010 Santa Fe Highlander with low profile tyres. 18 Inch looks good!

That's great!
Post some pics ASA you get out of the car :D (*)

The wheels are identical with Santa Fe's! Although i think they are 7,5x18" than 7x18"

(*) BTW, what are you doing OUTSIDE the car?

I needed a beer! Only one, I have to get back to driving! The wheels are 225/40 18 Inch. Will they affect the speedo at all?

You also need a GPS.. that would be an easy way to test your speedo.. Others with 18" wheels haven't reported speedo read errors though..

Thanks guys...back on the road. Check the petrol pics tomorrow night.

Also I am going to see my mechanic mate in the morning to see about some mods.

What would be first on your list?

I reckon it looks pretty good just as it is with those alloys and Window tint... But Rear Spoiler at about A$400 painted and fitted would be nice.. and maybe some fog lights..

If you are going to do some performance mods be careful with your insurance (I get the impression you are a younger guy )

Edit: Just looked at your profile.. not as young as I thought (but young compared to me)

Ok, if it's only one beer...

Compared to the stock tyre sizes 195/65-15 (SX) and 225/45-17 (SR), the 225/40-18 tyre diameter and circumference is oversized only by 0,4% (*).
So, theoretically, they will not noticeably affect the speedo.

Although to test your speedo itself, you have to read... 3 posts above

Yeah Dazzler I'm not that young. The mods I was looking at were only to lower it and maybe an exhaust. I will be def. getting the windows tinted. My mate is busy fixing up the old car so I can sell it, so no mods anytime soon. Until I have some money in my pockets!

look at my thread "agents quick guide to lowering your i30" for how to lower the car yourself (will cost around $300~350 or so for springs)

Yes I would love to lower my car. still waiting on some cash from the sale of the old car. I am not too handy...but my mate has a shop (he is a mechanic) and he works for beer.
