My i30 2014 GD-01 headunit died some time ago and after much pondering I decided to replace it with an aftermarket Android Eonon UA13 Plus.  I have this installed using just the ISO primary Harness and an aerpro facia.  It all works great and is good value.

I knew prior to installing it that the SWC controls would not work unless I bought the expensive $100+ aerpro harness + patch cable or hardwire the SWC wire to the headunit directly and then program the controls via the unit. To keep costs down I would like to go with option 2.

I am trying to locate the SWC wire on the car side and using the GD-01 wiring diagram I have identified pins 22 (ST-REMO) and 35 (REMO-GND).

The UA13 Plus has two loose SWC 1 and SWC 2 wires and a GND wire which is connected to another plug or another which is for use with the reverse camera, which I will install shortly.

My question is I assume HU SWC 1 needs to be spliced to i30 ST-REMO pin 22 but I am unsure about the i30 REMO-GND pin 35 and if this needs to be wired anywhere and if so, should this be spliced into a HU GND?

Thanks!

in case it helps anyone in the future. No need to buy the expensive SWC harness...I preserved my steering wheel controls by connecting car side pins 22 (ST-REMO) to the headunit's SWC 1 wire and pin 35 (REMO-GND) to the headunit's GND.  I just had to use the steering control learning in the headunit.
