Hey so am after some guidance before I drop the gearbox out if my i30 so I can plan what parts I'll likely need.

So was all fine until my daughter started getting driving lessons and they taught her to drop down through the gears as approaching traffic lights

Now either gearbox or clutch is making noise, suspect  either input shaft bearing or some part of clutch plate (damper springs).

So noise is worse if you put foot on clutch at 60kms/h and drop into second or first.

Is noisy in all gears with foot off clutch.

If you are stationary and rev the engine in neutral there is no noise with foot on clutch, slight noise with foot off the clutch

So noise seems to be proportional to speed of input shaft
