So it looks like im going to have to send the instrument cluster off to get fixed. Does anyone know if the car will still run ok without the instrument cluster in place?

Does it do anything silly like go into limp mode or anything like that?

I don't think that has ever been asked in the life of the forum. Surely if it needs to come out you can try ignition and a short move down the driveway.

Theres a repair shop on the other side of town, i was thinking about driving it over so they could see the fault. Then maybe i could remover the dash there and leave it for them to fix and drive home.

I'm not that keen for it to go into limp mode halfway home or something silly like that. I was also wondering if without the dash whether it might stop some function working, like cooling fans for example. I could try on the driveway but would need to warm the car up...
