Hey there Jedis of the Hyundai Club... i need some help
Recently purchased ( 3 weeks ago) the above mentioned car to help reduce the fuel bills to travel to work everyday. It has been amazing... till last week.
After starting the car and going to pull out my driveway( the drive is a 45 degree uphill, to a sharp left hand turn onto the road... also uphill), the car, which usually accelerates really well was super sluggish and stuck in a slow acceleration mode. No turbo at all, A minute after as i reached the top of the hill, an engine light came on. I continued to drive to Work, thinking that was super weird, the car behaving as normal after 5 mins. Turbo was back and no issues.
Took to mechanic friend, p0101 code, maf sensor. We took out the maf sensor and cleaned it, he also suggested to put a new diesel filter in as we had no idea when, or if it was ever done. I managed to do that part myself.
The next morning same thing happened.. so i took apart the air tube and took out the sensor again, cleaning it with air sensor cleaner, removed the negative from battery and let it sit for a few hours. Took for a drive same thing... sluggish up the hill, back to normal after 5 mins.
I also noticed that my fuel consumption has almost doubled, i usually sit at 5l/100 after the drives ( very short too) it was sitting at 8.8l/100.
Im really hoping you guys can help me here... im anxious that i have bought a lemon... though the car when going is fantastic...
