So I was wondering how far everyone regularly commutes to work.

It doesn't have to be in your i30, but we'll probably assume it is

42 miles each way, but I'm delaying my journey this morning (already an hour behind) because of a lorry fire :(

About 20 minutes (or 30kms) of mostly open road each way.

On with the cruise control, turn up the radio and enjoy the sight of full dams and spring lambs........ :D :D

110 km each way.

I did it on motorcycle for 5 years (train during winter), but finally got enough of the rain and bought my i30 for the wet and cold days :)

Takes about 20-30 minutes longer in the car as I can't ride between the lanes any more and the fuel display makes it a bit of a sport to drive as economically as possible. I've finally become one of those slow snails I used to be so annoyed about, but at least I'm averaging 4.5l/100km :)

I was thinking one way.

cheers :)

i voted the 10-20 miles
i actually travel slightly further than the 32 k's - it's closer to 37, but i decided i just scrape into that category.

there's been an advert on tv this last week about walk to work day and/or catch public transport and ditch the car. according to whereis.com that would take me approx 8 hours to walk to work. the only bus is the school bus that goes to the other town, where perhaps i could catch a taxi from there. that would still take well over an hour and probably cost me almost as much as i'd earn for the day. the single morning national train has to be booked in advance and is outside my working hours and still goes to the wrong town.

Sure am. I can just manage about 4.8 l/100km on the bike, but it's not really fun driving it that way and it uses petrol which is more costly than diesel in Denmark. It's also nice being able to feel my fingers and toes when I arrive at work - something I often couldn't in the end of the bike season.
