Hi Everyone,
I am experiencing an issue with my i30, when slowing down for a corner/roundabout/speed bump, really anything that gets me below 3rd gear, the cars engine just turns off, power stays on because the radio is still going, some of the dash lights come on as well. If I just stop and turn the car back on it's fine until it does it again.
It doesn't happen all the time, maybe once or twice when driving, the car has just been for a service where a number of issues were picked up and fixed and this issue supposedly was fixed (due to a clogged air filter) but a few days later it still had the same issue, a check engine light came on and we took it back to the mechanic, he said there was no actual error code and that he can't really see any issues that would be causing this problem without diving deep into the car.
A 2nd issue has come up which I found in another post about not getting over 3k rpm, which is something like "limp mode" which could be caused by the fuel filter.
Would a bad/faulty fuel filter be causing both these issues? it was also mentioned that a bad lot of diesel could also be causing this. Also asked the mechanic to check the o2 sensor because i've seen that be an issue before.
I have very limited car experience here, practically have no idea about anything besides what I have googled.
This is going back to the mechanic to check the fuel filter/pump but any ideas I can get before would be great
