So as an owner of a 2015 i30 1.6 crdi DCT after 235000km, the unfortunate time has come that I need to replace the dual clutch system and actuator.
The issue started when after many months of noticing the clutch slipping on acceleration and rough starts, the gear changes were rough and the car would hesitate to accelerate after changing the odd gears. I was quoted around 4000€ for the fix, but since this is my "good" car (I have another Toyota vitz with 310000km on the clock that runs like a new one) I will need to fix it.
Kind of ridiculous that after changing the clutches at 70000km (
Clutch needs replacement after 77000 km for DCT ) I now need to fix it again. Service and oil changes are always on time, I don't mistreat the car and especially the gearbox as I know how sensitive it can be.
Considering that the market price of the car in Cyprus is around 6000-7000€ with this mileage (can be lower as well), 4000€ is like buying another car with all the issues that can appear later (turbo, DPF issues).
Will try to hold on to it for another year or so to make up for some of the cost, and move to a different car. Would not consider another DCT car ever again.
