Hey everyone,
I have a 2012 Hyundai i30 GD hatchback. After putting my winter wheels in the trunk and slamming the tailgate shut quite firmly a few times, I suddenly couldn’t open the trunk anymore.
When I press the electronic release button, I can hear a clicking sound coming directly from the latch area. I also hear a metallic clunk when using the mechanical emergency release directly at the latch, but the tailgate still won’t open. It moves slightly when I pull on it, but it won’t come loose.
I’ve already tried pushing down on the tailgate while activating the release and then lifting it up, but nothing has worked so far.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I briefly took it to a mechanic, but he said he had no idea either 😂😂😂 Perfect….
