My two week old, 2010 i30 hatch, 1800klm 1.6 diesel auto has started surging when held at a constant speed 50, 80, 100, 110 etc but when I turn the air conditioning ON the surging stops. Any known remedy for this problem?

Not seen this reported before. Obviously you have he warranty to fall back on, but if it was mine I'd be checking for loose rubber hoses, and check the fuel filter.

Welcome Peter.. That is a strange one..certainly not a common problem , as Lorian says..( I'd go straight to the dealer - do not pass go do not collect $200)

We have an answer to the surging problem. The O ring on the bottom of the fuel filter had a slight kink in it allowing air to be sucked in when there was negative pressure. When idling and at a constant speed the pressure is different to when backing off and and increasing speed. Having the Airconditioning ON increases the pressure on the fuel line. This is what I have been told.
