Only externally visible option are the tinted windows.. for the time being anyway...

Very shiny and reflective at the moment, but with the bad weather this weekend we will see how long that lasts..

good work mate!! welcome to i30 ownership!!!

hahaha i have a black car... it stays clean for about half a day! keeping it scratch free is the worst part, they get heaps of swirls in them from anything touching it!!

If you keep it REAL dirty then it will hide the swirl marks...

I also posted the fuel efficiency for the first few dozen km's in the thread linked below.. very impressed, already noticably better than my Honda Civic 1.8l was..

https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,6839.0.html

I have also ordered a few things online for it..
- rubber boot lip protector
- stainless steel door sills (scuff plates)
- Mudflaps

just to waste some extra money

EDIT: Ohh and my two year old has named the car, seems *his* name is Toby.. don't argue with a 2 year old

hahahaha yep! your right you cant argue with a 2 year old!!

what did the mud flaps set you back? IIRC they are like $35 or so a set genuine!

The mudflaps I am buying as genuine parts, I have contacted 5 dealers (parts departments) and in the end I couldn't find anyone doing under the Hyundai RRP which is actually $44 per set (so $88 all up)..

The other two parts I bought through ebay. There are a number of mudflaps on ebay, but they all say "hatch only", shame as they are much cheaper..

ahh!! did you ask for a discount!!! lol or even trade price! might sound cheeky but always ask for a discount!

just found my recipt and i got them for $32.65 a set! deacent enough saving, but nothing to loose sleep over, ive paid more for other parts ive bought... so you win some and you loose some!

ill give you a tip...

go to woolies, there are 3 pack of micro fiber cloths in the "automotive" section, use a brand new one each time you wash it, then throw it away... wash the roof, boot bonnet, then work your way down going around the car!

so then to the swage line, then the lower half, then finally the sils and wheels!

it takes heaps longer for the scratches to become obvious that way! and get a tin of "FW1" polish/wax/awesome stuff!

Nice car I like the black. Now what I am trying to figure out is why yours is a MY 2011 but has a different front spoiler/grille to mine. Perhaps down to which factory it came from? Does your come with the Eco-Drive Indicator? Where it tells you on the dash when to change gears up and down?

Joel see this link to see the difference I am talking about on the spoilers, note these are all standard spoilers no kits have been added

Strangely the i30 that Australia gets which I assume still comes from the original Korean Factory doesn't get the new front or a 6 speed manual box .. infact changes for the my11 are relatively minimal over here (a bit disappointing really)  :'(

If "ours" had got the full makeover it might have crept back up the top 10 to 3rd again instead of sitting around 6 or 7th best seller...IMO

We lost out in Australia and didn't get all the changes other countries got, the side skirts would have been great.. I am not willing to get them and effect my insurance, but they look real good..

Nice wagon Joel. I reckon it would like great with black room rails.

What says the forum...can the roof rails be successfully painted?? And if so, what's the best way to do it???

I doubt, esp. if they are chrome-plated

They aren't chrome plated, they seem more shiny in my shot as it was so bright at the time, they just look like a silver coloured plastic in real life..

If they were taken off, given a light sand with a very fine emery paper, hit with a coat of plastic primer and then a matt black coat or three (or maybe a hammertone finish ) They should be fine..
