  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
Has anyone had a go at removing the air bag warning stickers on the sunvisors? They look like they are stuck on very well and I don't want to risk damaging the sunvisor trying to remove them.

Any comments would be much appreciated.  :D

I'd like to get rid of them as I reckon they make my baby look a bit tacky.

Hi Ugly Mongrel,
you could try a hair dryer, heat them up, this will normally allow easy removal of stickers, but i have not tried it on those air bag warning stickers.

I reckon they are sort of painted on (Might even be a sort of offence to remove them...)

Try some eucalyptus oil...that usually works a treat on dissolving sticker glue..... :)

^-- So the obvious answer is to paint over them

I have to ask the obvious question ---- Why do you want to remove other than "they make my baby look a bit tacky"?

No one can see it other than you and your passenger and only when you pull down the visor.

Is this not a legal requirement to have this warning notice as it prompts any user of the car to the important warning regarding the air bag deployment eg. use of a child seat.

For me, it is just annoying as they are bright and colourful.. Legally you can't use car seats in the front in Australia even if you don't have airbags, so it is a mute point... They might as well have stickers telling you to drive on the left, or to wear your seatbelt and not drive over the speed limit

On mine the writting is a greyish colour and blends in on the visor.

Please post a picture so I can visualise the issue you describe

The stickers in Oz are yellow and black and quite large. I had no other reason for wanting to remove them apart from aesthetics.

I'll get a pic posted for the non-OZ members.

On checking today, UK model, there is no sticker.

The writting is embossed onto the visor fabric.

You could if you wanted try and remove it but it would leave the visor in a mess.

To be honest I'd never really noticed it until I'd read this thread and when the visor is "out" blocking what little sun we get here, the writting is pointing up towards the sky..

Hey eye30, Here are the pics of the Oz warning stickers as promised. I really hate seeing them up there, but they look too hard to remove without damaging the visor surface.
