And here's me thinkin' it was started by those little pricks down the road who had nothing better to do than go around badge collecting....

Our badges should make nice agrafes. Merc badge is better used for keys.

I think I should change my no to a yes also to be honest, there are some really good points and I like the fact about the mystery and also it makes your car a little bit different from the rest..

so it's a bit of heat (hair dryer) and a bit of dental floss right?

haha guilty as charged, car is getting washed this weekend as the big drive from Townsville to Tully (not so big I know) made it quite dusty, plus all the rain.. it is heart breaking sometimes.

The de-badging may occur this weekend I will have to let the idea sit for a day..

no need for heat with a new car, the double sided is still "soft"

all you need for a new car is
            - fishing line, kero, a clean new rag, another clean new rag, some polish, microfiber cloth and a cold beer

1- use the fishing line as a saw and "cut" through the double sided tape between the badge and paint

2- put the kero on the rag and rub the glue and double sided residue off the paint work (throw out the rag after you have finished as it will stink)

3- apply polish/wax, to the 2nd new rag, i reccomend FW1 for your black car... everything else IMHO leaves "swirls" trust me here i have a black car too!

4- wipe off with microfiber cloth, the sit back and enjoy a cold beer/what have you

if it takes you more than 15~20 minutes you have gone wrong somewhere...

DO NOT remove the "H" badge... apparently it has holes behind it...

Something like araldite or even Silicone might have been better (I am not that confident with longevity of superglue is an application like that..)

That looks real good trev012 ..... I don't think we can buy those high spoilers with the air flow gap above the roof here in Oz ... looks real cool and I've never seen one with the decal exhaust sports pack either, Had the car dealer 'Phoenix' put his advertising sticker on the inside of your back window ? looks like it from the photo.

I will have mine de badged by next week, will leave the the big H logos on the front and back and the SR on the side but everything else will go.
I think it gives it a cleaner sleeker look and it wont be a mystery to figure out what kind of car it is I saw 8 on a short walk to the shops yesterday

Hi Ozbrum.  There lies a story with the advertising sticker . The car itself is an "Edition" model which I believe can only be had here in the UK.  It is a 1.6 petrol model and comes with side skirts and privacy windows [darkened glass at rear] sports pedals and a silver gear knob.  The garage put on the rear spoiler themselves.  Unfortunately, the rear window has a blister on the privacy glass as it is only a film they put over the original glass. I pointed it out to them and it is going in tomorrow to have it fixed. The garage even tried to suggest it was me that caused it by removing their advertising sticker. Silly them  :-[ - Smart me :D.  I took a photograph of the rear before I took the sticker off and when I showed them the mark was there before I removed it, they had no case to answer  .

Well done Trev ..... I'm glad you had the photo to prove it was not your fault, No wonder some car dealers get a bad name trying to blame the customer. I could see that blister in the photo. It's quite a delicate tricky job to remove that window film without pulling away the demister wires as well ? and I'm not sure if there would be too many expert window tinters in your part of the world. I can't believe they would be so stupid to even think to stick their advertising sticker inside on an already stuck on dark film surface that you would have to have your nose on the back window to be able to see it  :'(

Let us know how you go  :)
