Ive finally bit the bullet, and going to get a set of the angel eye headlights from Sharkracing, first off can I how great these guys are with communication, all my emails have been answered, and accurately and promtly too!
Living in the UK, we drive on the right *correct* side :P.
Sharkracing supply headlamps for the left hand drive market, therefore leaving me with mis-aligned beams, or having to try and adjust them

Eyecon gave me the great idea of sending a set over to them, and getting them to convert them. So I have just purchased a set off ebay, pre-owned.
£35 and £75 respectively, so that 2 for cheaper than 1.
Approx £100 to ship to there with the post office, and then £155 for sharkracing to convert them and send them back. What a result. Just waiting on the headlamps from ebay to arrive, before I send them off. Shall hopefully be done by christmas, with pictures to follow.

Just a heads up of what's to come :P

Going to choose white, to match the xenons, and amber(orange) for the smaller of the two rings, so I can match it up with the side repeaters, still waiting on the new set to arrive from their respective ebay sellers, hopefully will have pictures up before the years :)

Ok, so it has been a few months since I said i was going to do this, finally after a lot of time wasting on behalf of a certain company.. the finished product is completed, had to do it myself as the headlamps i sent, the newer version with black bezel coudn't be separated by the company. :faint: Therefore swapped my mums headlights, the older chrome bezel with the facelift version, and took the heat gun to them.
Separated the lenses, and sprayed the inside black as i did before, masking off around the indicator bulb, to allow some reflection still.
Wiring was simple enough, and used an appoxy resin super glue to mount them.
Absolutely loving the final result, partly for the fact nobody else has it here in northern ireland, uk or even europe i think  :D, and because I done it all myself.

I have posted the images on Photobucket, to allow for saved bandwidth :brilliant:

Its a bit let down by the sidelight bulbs!

yeah Lorian, was thinking white again, but before had the orange for the differance.

great job.   i like how you've painted the chrome above your grill red.  :goodjob:  how do you glue the lenses back on to the head lights?

Just kept the original glue 2i30's that was on the headlamp originaly, heated with the heatgun and pressed them back together, and held them untill the glue settled a bit, using duct tape to hold it in place, then sealed with gutter sealant. hopefully shall work

can anybody help resize the images, hideously large :(

cheers 2i30's.
was inspired to do it when I traveled to Portugal in the summer time, the Hyundai I20's over there all have coolour coded grills. Think it sets it out a bit different, and not jus the common matt black or gloss black that everyone goes for :) the chrome was just a bit too much on the car, cheapened it i thought

Looks good buddy. I too had a small condensation problem in my sight side light, but immediately fixed with a small dab of silicon.

HI mate, I know this is an old thread, but I have some issues , did you only use primer and then painted it ? or did you use something else as well ? ; i heard that on plastic chrome you need to rub it matt? or even use sandpaper ? is this correct ,or was it just pay and spray ^^

thanks for help

glac

Hey Glac,

I lightly keyed the surface with a fine grit paper, to take the shine off it, then plastic primer, and plastic black Matt paint. Very easy to do. and still looks like new today :)

Hi mate, Just read ur post and the angel eyes look amazing.

Just one question though......Im planning on getting the set of rings individually from another source either

1. http://www.exledau.com/sl-circle-eye-diy-kit-130mm-110mm.html or
2. http://www.exledau.com/led-angel-eye-circle-eye-diy-kit--80mm-white-pcb.html .

Im wonndering if you could give me the exact ring sizes (inner and outer) of each ring in "mm", so maybe i can get a good acrylic ring covers for the leds. Something like this http://www.exledau.com/angel-eyes-2ea-1set.html

Cheers and once again ur diy job and tutorial is awesome. :goodjob:

Why would having a girlfriend keep you off the forum?  :undecided:
Isn't it something nice that you could both do together, as a couple?
I'll have to google that.

Hey chum, I wouldnt know the diameter unforunately, never measured, also the rings aren't completely circular, as the shape of the headlight, as you can see, has a straight edge, your better buying direct from shark racing and guaranteeing yourself of a perfect fit first time round :)
