Already have a SLX CRDi, I am now looking at buying a Petrol model.

Do people think that buying a SR model over a SLX is worth the Extra money?

I got the SR because it was the same price as putting 17" Alloys and
bodykit on the SLX. Plus it has a few extra features

Did you find that the colour of the body kit was slightly off compared to the colour of the car?

i was looking at a white one and found that was the case

only reason i ask is coz i was looking at one of the first ones that came out and apparently the dealer had to paint the kit, so it wasnt factory. but if you dont hva e a issue i mite just specify that i want a factory painted one.

Hi i30 cruiser,

A combination of a gutsy diesel and a sporty looking SR would be great...

From my experience due to the fact that most body kits are plastic they often look slightly different colour than the car to which they are fitted (independent of brand)

According to the guy that fitted my wife's Tiida spoiler the body kits come separate from the SR and are fitted at the dealer by people such as him (but I think from what he said they are factory painted) Think they dealer fit the body kits and Audio is to stop them getting stolen or damaged on the ship or at the wharf...

Cheers,

Dazz

That window shade at the back you all get excited about makes them look like a Honda Jazz to me ;)

Spoken like someone who owns the pov pack SX. Hint of jealousy there perhaps?  ;)

Above the SLX the SR has:

*High rear spoiler
*Side skirts
*Leather & cloth seats, leather inserts on doors
*Alloy pedals
*6 disc stacker with high output speakers (6) and amplifier
*Rear elasticised storage net
*Standard ESP with Traction control
*Standard side airbags (on top of front and curtain airbags)
*Auto headlights
*17" Alloys with 225/45 R17 tyres

My body kit was shipped directly from Korea, pre-painted and was fitted to my car in Brisbane.

Hi Buddy... So you're still about then  (don't see much of you m8 - you must be busy!)

SLX gets same number of airbags as SR I believe we have 2x front, 2 x side + curtain airbags.

i30cruzer... We are happy with our 2nd vehicle being a Nissan Tiida but I would have been just as happy to go with an SX diesel as our 2nd car and maybe an SR as our main vehicle although total cost of the two would have been about $5000 more as we got an amazing deal on the Tiida and $1000 free fuel at the time.

Hi Buddy, the only difference i can really see is the leather (of which i found so sparse as to not warrent SR) the subtle body differences such as wing, side skirts, wheels which id probably change and the esp. Basically all bar the leather and six stacker (of which my 8g usb takes care of) can be factory upgraded. I do think the SR does make the total car look more finished but not as much as to warrent no Diesel!!!

Hi i30cruzer,

Obviously I think the SR is worth the extra money.

I wouldn’t consider the differences between the SLX and the SR as ‘subtle’ by any means. The wheels, side skirts, and spoiler (or window shade if you prefer) on the SR add so much to the appearance imo. I haven’t noticed any colour difference between the car and the body kit.

Apart from cosmetic differences, the big advantages of the SR over the SLX as I see them are the:
-   standard ESP and TCS (5 star ANCAP rating straight out of the box)
-   SR Sound system – It delivers fantastic sound!

The 17” alloys do give a firmer ride from my understanding. So you might want to consider that when making your decision.

I guess it depends on what’s important to you. For me, aesthetics are important, so I went the SR option (and haven’t looked back). If that’s not important or the SRs styling doesn’t agree with you, then save yourself some money and buy the SLX.

Tim ;-)
