Hubbie and I are on our yearly trip away, the first big long drive we've done in Bluebelle, 996.4km in 2 days...  we've found a few little things that are annoying when driving long distance.

One the windscreen in too big/on to little of an angle, the legs have a line of sunburn... but the most annoying thing in the whistling noise, I can't figure out if its the door seals or windscreen seal, not really sure what else it could be?? Any ideas??

I'll take a pic of the front of Bluebelle for you all tomorrow too, so you can see just how much of a bug magnet the front of our beloved cars are..

I don't recall an annoying whistle in my old CRDi..(haven't done a long high speed run in the CW yet)

Is yours a petrol or Diesel? If it's the later the turbo could be whistling but if it were that loud and annoying it would be a worry  :scared:

Will be interested to see other replys! :winker:

She's a petrol :)

I was thinking that it might be the wind getting under the rubber strips along the roof??

oh and here's the bugs pic...

Any ideas on how I get the bugs out of my radiator??

Is that a dent in the middle of your bonnet?
Re: the bugs. They'll dry out and disintegrate relatively quickly.

I suspect the "dent" may be a reflection of a light fitting or smoke detector overhead...... :winker:

As for the whistle, did you check to make sure all your windows are wound fully up?

Yup "dent" is the light in the carport.

And windows all the way up :)

just because the windows are all up doesn't mean it isn't a window whistling.   if you put a window down a bit does it stop.?

mirrors can cause wind deflection, hence a whistle
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if
