Eagle-eyed motorists were in for a surprise when pranksters tampered with a petrol station price sign.

The unleaded petrol price was changed to 25.9 pence per litre and the letters LOL - which normally stand for Laugh Out Loud - were written below it.

The normal price of unleaded petrol at the station is 125.9 pence per litre. Tesco said it had corrected the sign.

I like the slogan at the bottom of the sign:

"Helping you spend less every day"

Over here most of the price displays are just done with big numbered cards which are slid in and out... Most of the Stations either have it mounted up high, have a tamper proof cage around the sign or take the cards out when they are closed or they would have them knicked or changed.. :D

Thing is, Dazz, our prices increase every half an hour (or so it seems) so it makes sense to have them electronically adjustable; saves them getting arm ache  :faint:

I noticed at the weekend that the Sainsburys station, who have never had their price board working  , have installed a new board with no decimal point, obviously in preparation for £10 per litre!

Today's paper (well its the mail) says to expect 5p a litre rise over the next few weeks due to the unreset in various countries.

Why?????????????

I would have expected that there is enough stock for a few weeks by which time this should be over.

Just speculators pushing the price up to make a fast buck.
