In the plan for future  models for US market Hyundai revealed also 5-door version of Elantra - by the pictures it is clearly i30.

I suspect that start of deliveries planned from Nov 08 has connection with beginning of i30 production for Europe in Hyundai motor Czech factory from Dec 08.

What you suspect is in line with previous posting on this site and H-F (Think Russia is also getting it shortly as an Elantra as well)
