OK, i love my polls, here goes another.
What 3 features were the most important to you when considering your purchase of a Hyundai i30?
I voted for style. Much has been said about the design of the i30. Some love it, some hate it. I actually really like it except for the rear tail lights, but even they are growing on me.
My second vote was for power. Our previous car was a v6 so didnt want to go to far backwards on power.
Lastly, our other main consideration was fuel economy, this was our main reason for the down size. Hence, the 1.6 CRDi was our choice :D

I had to go for:

ride - I'll never forget that test drive, when I first encountered the fly-by-wire steering. Awesomely refined feeling, plus the build quality could be felt on the road

economy - The books & reviews quoted an unbelievable 63mpg. I don't do the sort of driving to achieve that, but am getting just below 60mpg

warranty - Five years eh? If I'd had even 1 year on my brand new MG/ZR I'd have saved around £1900 on repairs.

I'd also like to add that from taking a test drive and deciding to order one, Hy introduced a 3 years 0% finance. Well, having moved £16k+ from one account to another, ready to make the payment, I could now revert that and take my balance over 2 years. I chose 2 years rather than 3 just in case I got bored after 24 months. No chance of that I can tell you  ;)

Good poll btw

I went for Style & Design, Performance and Economy in roughly equal billing.

I wouldn't have bought an I30 if I hated the look of it. Initially I liked the interior more than the exterior but now I'm happy with the total package.

The Torque of the CRDi particularly in 3rd and 4th reminded me of the 2.0 (105Kw) SSS pulsar I bought in 1991 and I loved that car..

I have always liked to be able to just hop in the car and go where ever I want when I want so Economy has always been important... Even when I've had Company fuel cards I've hated filling up my cars every 2nd day with bucket loads of fuel...

Safety is important but I feel when your times up it's up....

1. Safety features especially ESP as standard on basic model

2. Price and warranty compared to other marques with same specification

2.5. Ride and responsive feel.

3. Staff at the dealership who were not pushy.

Looking at the i30 from an Australian point of view (5 years unlimited warranty, Australian tuned suspension etc..) they rate well in most areas...

Style & Design  -  Attractive interior / pleasant if not pretty styling
Safety  -  5 star rating
Ride & Handling  -  Good ride/adequate handling on 16"+ tyres anyway...
Performance  - Great in CRDI / Good in 2.0 ltr
Space & Versatility  - Roomy Hatch with flexible seating arrangements
Price   - Great value compared to opposition
Reliability  - Generally very good - close to class leader
Warranty - 5 years unlimited KM - as good as any..
Economy  - Good in 2.0ltr, Brilliant in CRDI
Comfort  -  Good if not great..

No wonder we love our rides...

Not suprizing, Fuel economy seems to be the number one consideration when purchasing a new car today.
