Owner of a new GLS Elantra Touring. Traded in my trusty 2002 Santa Fe, it was time (120,000 miles), and gas is getting expensive!
107 miles into it and I was hit by a snowplow that was backing out of a driveway during a snowstorm. $3700, which is covered by insurance. Body Shop says it's ready this Tuesday. Hope to keep this car as long as the Santa Fe, which means I will avoid all snowplows for the next 119,000 + miles.

Ford F150 truck with plow on front was backing out of an alleyway. I was driving down the street at about 20 MPH when he backed into me at a 90 degree angle. Actually a low speed collision resulting in damage to the right rear back panel and the right rear door panel. Punctured the right rear tire as well. Nobody hurt. Conversation with wife 10 minutes before: "It's snowing out, you're not going to take the new car are you?" .....................$3700 in damages to the car, insurance didn't cover the damages incurred in the subsequent conversation with the Mrs.

Hi Ping Eye.. Welcome to the club.. That was terrible luck with such a new car  :'(  Did the plough driver take the blame and save you paying an insurance excess or affecting your no claim? These wives can be hard task masters  :sweating:

The other guy admitted to fault so I'm covered. My wife has to deal with the "deductible" for living with me.
