GENERAL / GD Map lights - bulb replacement
« Last post by BrendanP 2 hours ago »
Does anyone have experience of replacing these bulbs with LED bulbs? The bulb is 8W but these seem to be difficult to find and expensive, as it's a weird rating. Most festoon bulbs are 5W or 10W. I'm guessing 5W is too dim and 10W could overheat the fitting.

Attached is a photo of the lens cover which can be removed by opening the sunglasses holder and pulling down on the front edge of the lens. You can see the hooks at the back edge and the springy prongs at the front. DON'T try levering the cover off with a screwdriver along the sides or rear edge as you can snap off the hooks or the pegs they fit over.

Hi everyone!
I'm GxGO, I'm from Bucharest, Romania and I'm the first owner of a 2024 i30 PD 1.5 hatch, Petrol, Arctic White.
I'm glad that you welcomed me into your/our community and although my knowledge in the field of car mechanics is minimal, I hope I can make a positive contribution to the growth of this site.
My level of English is quite low, so I will rely on Google Translate. Please ignore any grammatical mistakes!

I have the same car. Same issues. You can see DPF related stats with this particular model using the pro version of the app Car Scanner Pro.

You're right, it cancels the setting of the cruise control or speed limiter. One day I'll figure out how the voice control works!

Thank you for your reply. Yes it seems the heat exchanger is leaking. And like the other post, the garage quoted more than the car’s value to replace it ! I am not qualified to even dabble with mechanics so a £10 bottle of radweld is going in, if it’s no good then it’s time for an upgrade ! Thanks again

Yeah I think it 'pauses' the current control, allowing you to 'resume' it later.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. I always just press the cruise control button to turn it off.
