+  cutting my own hair is not an option I wish to explore. I actually enjoy my couple of hours (don't ask :whistler:) at the hairdressers, it's the only time I get to read the gossip magazines.  :happydance:

+ my son introduced me to a DS game called Animal Crossing... New Leaf.  I spend a couple of hours playing it most nights.   I am not prone to gaming, but this one is so simple but such a time sucker that you don't realise how much it is using up.

- Sorry guys, but that's why I haven't been around much lately.  If any of you have it, let me know and we can exchange friend numbers.  That way you can visit me virtually.   :happydance:

Are you allowed to "retain" your old plates for future use, should you need them?
Over here you can.

You can keep plates in a sort of "bond', at least in NSW. I haven't investigated it in Qld.
But thses were just the standard plates which came with the car that happened to have a letter combination I was able to relate to.

Hate to say Dave when was the last time you changed plates, when I put my PP's on Bruce I was required to hand the old ones in, It not only stated it in the letter from DMV's,but I also asked when I changed them, what if I don't want to display them any more and just store them,I was to0ld I had to be re issued new normal plates.

Just re-read the letter that came with my personalised plates. Point 2 says. "Your Personalised Number Plates don't have to be attached to a vehicle. They can be attached or removed from a vehicle at any time (in accordance with provision 1 above - which relates to the need to go into a DOT business centre to activate them.
The big thing is, unlike NSW where you pay a "fee" for them each year as part of your rego, in Qld you own them outright. No ongoing fees and if you want to frame them and hang them in the pool room, that's OK.
I know in NSW when I was at TTA, we had a couple of extras we'd bought but weren't on vehicles yet and you paid a "bond fee" to hold them for you. My rego was TTA-00. The boss (owner) had TTA-01 - because he was Numero Uno. :whistler:
