If that's a small crack, I'd hate to see a big one.

You don't want to look at my bum then?  That's not what you have said previously.   :whistler:

You must be really constipated if you've got coal in your bum. :(

- I say goodbye to the i30 tomorrow.   :blubber:  The Chubby Chariot has given me nearly four years of motoring joy.   :goodjob:
+ I pick up another car tomorrow.   :happydance:
+ It has more torque (530Nm) and more power (270kw) than the i30.
- It uses more fuel than the i30.
+ I work in the Oil and Gas industry, so I am supporting myself!!

It's been mentioned previously it's a Ute and with the figures quoted my guess is a Holden SS manual Ute.

After just looking at the spec's I'd say you're right :goodjob2:

+ I received my quote back from a local general service centre, and they are charging me A$225 for brake discs and pads all round for my i30. Hyundai was asking A$170 alone for just rear pads  I am a bit skeptical about quality though, but I know the pads are Ferodo - it is just the discs I am not too sure about.
- I managed to mash the power button to my computer in whilst turning it on and it took me a full teardown to pop the microswitch back into place again. I was a bit scared though as I thought I might have busted it up altogether :whistler:
- I saw this numbskull driving back from squash last night - no lights, not even park lights or DRL's. Idiot :head_butt:

Disc's and pads all round for $225 is very suspicious, that's cheaper than budget brands

They quoted me just on A$200 for labour for five hours, which also isn't too bad as they are around 40% cheaper than Hyundai. But, if I do go this route then I will probably change them myself. I don't need discs just yet but I was curious as I knew the prices on discs for an i20. Plus, I used to own a VW at one stage and with that car you practically became a mechanic the day you purchased it :whistler:

I never go fast, that word doesn't exist in my vocabulary, I promise

- Hippo had a hiccup, I leave my lights set to the ON position all the time, so when I lock it with the remote button, the headlights go out after about 20 seconds but for some reason Sunday evening although my headlights did turn off, my tail lights did not. Even unlocking the car and turning the headlight switch to OFF didn't turn it off. I had to disconnect the battery for a few minutes after which it behaved normally.
+ I went to my folks' farm this past weekend as my mum had her birthday, so I went to drop off some presents and spend some time with the parental units (I have a quota to fill )
- The wind was absolutely horrid, we had gusts of more than 90kph on Saturday and the whole house shook at times. I have attached a video of me throwing a veggie oil bucket lid to Diesel, our new dog. I don't claim to have arms of steel; the wind took it about half a rugby field down the plot

:link: Port Alfred wind, 16 November 2014 - YouTube

- On Friday I sat for around two hours diagnosing why a printer wouldn't turn the paper media exit rollers the right way. I tore the whole printer down to find that there was a bug that went and died and got jammed in the duplex solenoid which meant the printer couldn't turn the rollers the correct way! I guess this is what they call 'bugs'

+ I took some photos of my dad's electricity setup while I was there. Electricity supply in SA is very problematic and we decided to go off-grid altogether for the farm. It consists of a 0.7kw Kestrel wind turbine and 4x PV panels of unknown power (I think around 300W each) attached to a 5000VA 48V/220V inverter that converts the power from the eight 260Ah batteries into usable AC power for the house. We use a gas stove and gas water geyser, though, and the batteries can supply the farm for around a week (Three bedroom, one bathroom with all the amenities). Pics below :)
