If there's something I've learnt about wives it's that they can ruin your plans you have made before you even know you've made any :)
Enjoy your break. I get the public holidays off that's it :(

Lucky you! How do you paint though, isn't it like ice cold over there? Or is this interior paint?

I don't get off this year (working straight through), but I am getting Christmas day off at least so I can go visit the parents :)

Yeah will be doing that for temp fix. Will eventually pull headlining out and re-upholster it. Maybe in camo :)

Good job Tim, looks like a bought one :goodjob:

Thanks. I'm pretty proud. I made myself slow down and take my time so it would come out well.

Can't wait to start the roof rack now. Got an idea in my head that im hoping will turn out a treat. Unfortunately the wallet says not yet. Will start buying a length of tube every fortnight or so after new year.

- Downloaded iTunes on my rickety old XP laptop out of mothballs to transfer music files onto Mrs G's iPhone 4 and while I was at it sought an upgrade of her iOS 7 to iOS 8 only to discover what the Telstra salesman said was wrong: "Just upgrade to iOS 8 on iTunes and you'll be able to unlock it." The iPhone 4 is not inlcuded in the iOS 8 upgrade.

+ Googled around and found Telstra will accept the phone's IMEI online and send an authorisation to Apple to provide an unlock key by email within 72 hours - for free. :happydance:

This is important for use overseas in sunny Bandung. :D

Yeah you need the iPhone 4'S and above to use iOS 8, I've never seen a locked iPhone  I thought it was only the sim cards that were locked.

Since the phone is owned outright then you should be able to use any company now and Amaysim do the cheapest plans you will find :) and once overseas you only need to purchase the pay as you go sim card from a reliable provider in Bandung.

Amaysim do roaming plans also for when overseas but I cant remember what their costs were :undecided:

Thanks, Craig. We got a $30 / 6 month Telstra sim for now but Amaysim sure is looking strong for our immediate future. :victory:

By the way, iTunes reminded me what a gluteus maximus of the equus ferus caballus it really is. It threatened to erase Mrs G's files and apps because I had set up a library on another PC. I then recalled a popular iTunes alternative - Copy Trans Manager - and within 30 seconds the music was loaded. :happydance:

iTunes is a pain if used with dual accounts, you need to disable shared accounts and untick the auto sync option, I've just been trying to sort this exact problem out on a friends phone as his wife had problems on her phone so decided to hook her phone into his ITunes and wiped all of his music - videos and every thing else out and replaced it with her own, he didn't know she had touched anything until he plugged his phone in and discovered his phone was now full of K pop  :disapp: as you could imagine some impolite conversations took place after that discovery :whistler:

Well, FWIW, definitely install :link: Free iTunes alternative - Manage iPod iPhone without iTunes. :goodjob:

Thanks Gonz :), I did look at Copy Trans Manager but iTunes is still required for iOS updates though I can see how CTM would be beneficial for iPhones that are no longer able to receive OS updates :)

- one of my husbands long time friends died last Saturday week after a week or so in hospital. He stopped breathing, then had a heart attack. He was in a coma that he didn't wake up from. His funeral was last Friday. He was, sorry would have been, 58 last Monday. He is our daughters godfather.

- our beloved Tarnie lies in the vets as I type, unable to breathe on her own. She has had laryngeal paralysis for some time, but today her larynx collapsed.  We expect to have to make the worst of decisions tomorrow.  I don't think we will be bringing her home again.

- my husband is close to inconsolable at the moment. I don't feel too flash myself.

Life suxs at the moment.

Sorry to bring the vibe down, but I did feel the need to vent, and I know you guys are always good for some sympathy and kind words.  Just what I need at the moment.

Kitti, Marzipan and I feel for you at this time. IMO, animals are as important as humans, when illness presents. The fact that you feel so bad, demonstrates your true love for friends and animals alike. You are both to be commended for this.

To everything there is a season..........

Sorry to hear of all your bad news Kittikat. It is particularly scary to lose friends the same age as us isn't it.  :sweating: :disapp:

Try and dwell on the good memories (that seems to help me after the initial grieving)  :undecided:
