We are driving from Lakes Entrance to Glen Rowan via that area in October (so I might see it first hand)
I have an i30 CW SLX with 16" wheels that i fitted chains to go to Mt Hotham a few weeks ago. However they rubbed up against the spring cup on the strut. While not doing any real damage they did scratch and dint the spring cups. It also meant I could only drive at 20 to 40 km as it was very noisy and clattery. sounding dreadful Has anyone used their i30 CW SLX with snow chains, and how did they go? Is their a solution for this or do Hyundai's need a certain snow chain. These were rentals but of the newer type and the correct size for the tyres.

I drove it last Saturday....
As we've had the Holden Monaro, I wonder why we never got a Ford Hume?
Is every road over there called Monaro, how many are there
I've only driven with chains a few times and years ago but my take was that they ought to be tight on the tyres. I had them so tight I drove home on the tar a couple of hundred kays. They were a little noisey but not worth stopping to take off.If you had them tight I reckon your problem would not have existed.
