Shock of all shocks I am about to post some negatives on the 2012 Hybrid Camry  :scared: (cover your ears)

The steering at the straight ahead is a little vague and the car can wander a bit on long straight roads .. and I think it rides a bit harsher on poor (broken up) bitumen surfaces compared to the previous model .. I think it might be because it is 100 odd kilos lighter and also maybe the Michelin Tyres have stiffer sidewalls..

On the positive side the new model is so quiet (even quieter than our old one) that 100kph (by the GPS) feels like 80kph.  :D

Appreciate the objectivity.
I guess there will also be differences between successive models.

Thanks Dave...

Phil,

The Renta had about 2660 when we picked it up and over 4800 when we returned it 7 days later... Ours only has 500 kms on it (they feel exactly the same )

Sorry Dazz but I have to disagree with Dave(or was he being sarcastic  :) ) it looks like a $2.99 steering wheel cover, I have liked all the added extras you put on so far but this one has me wondering, why spend all that money on a lovely great car like this and then turn it into tacky sheik, sorry

Fair call Rick I admire your honesty.. I'll live with it until I find a better one though (I must admit I'm in two minds) it was the deluxe version $6.99  :snigger:

Should be looking good.  :goodjob2:

Trish reckons the tint makes it look better.. Got darkest legal (doesn't look real dark)  :Pout:

Like I said photos once the driving lights are in and it has another wash  :D

Dazz
I got the formula 1 tint which is supposed to be one of the darkest legal tints available, at a distance it is darker than it looks,it's great too cuts out 70% of the heat and 90% of the harmful UV,as for the spot light fitting, hope the Toyota Tech's are better than the hyundai ones are, I made up all my own bracketing, mounted all the lights to the bracketing, all they had to do was mount the light brackets(with lights attached)to the Nudge bar and wire them up, when we got Cyril, once I got home I had to re wire the whole job,who ever did the wiring had absolutely no clue and they also obviously never checked that the lights worked at all, because I can tell you they didn't.
similar thing when we got Bruce, as I didn't check the work until I got to Adelaide, I had to clean up the shodder job the next lot of shodder workers did,but at least the lights on Bruce were wired correctly and did in fact work, pity you weren't closer I could have done the job for ya, especially the challenge of making hidden mounting brackets.

Thanks for that thought Rick.  :goodjob: I am not sure what brand my tint was (I guess I should have asked) they are posting out my official receipt and warranty so that might say...

My driving/fog lights are "sort of" OEM see link below

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271029224826?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_3175wt_1271

Apparently there is a 50/50 chance the wiring is already in place and I won't need to use the wiring that is supplied (came with a switch and ballast - I forget the correct word ) I could probably have done it myself but thought it safer for warranty purposes to get them to do it.
