I picked it up at about 10.15 this morning.. well sort of .. it was about 11am by the time I went through the compulsory hard sell on the paint protection and the paperwork shuffle etc..

First impressions mostly good but different things have impressed me than what I expected.. The performance is good but might get better (only had 13kms on the clock) Definately more go than my previous car but the weather was crap and so not doing anything too silly  :winker:

Hadn't noticed it on the test drive a few months back but even quieter than my previous car (may be due to the Michelin Primacy tyres)

The touch screen stereo has better sound and more features than the previous one too (best sound I have ever had)  :happydance:

Still not sure about the paint colour, I like it in some light (I certainly don't hate it .. just different to any of my previous 26 cars)

The dash has grown on me and the new layout means more info is visible without scrolling through menus.

They had about 45PSI in the tyres all  around    (although the ride still felt ok) I've dropped it back to 35 ..

The Neoprene seat covers were a pain to put on.. Instruction were clear as mud..  :whistler:

No photos until I've got the spoiler on (Monday)  :undecided: and the windows tinted and maybe he driving lights installed . and my slim line weathershields are on back order too..  :fum: (all clearly documented)  :winker:

Thanks Dave.. I drove it home and then took it to work the long way by the time I got home tonight it had 43kms on it (nearly run in )

Took Trish for a 20km loop (in the car) after tea and she thought it was a bit quieter..  Not too many negatives from her so far  :faint:

Excellent news. I do like picking up a new car :D

Which reminds me...

...just different to any of my previous 26 cars...

The last time you mentioned your car history you said "previous 25 cars". Come on now - get your facts straight

Oh wait...  :-[

I was a bit disappointed that the spoiler wasn't on it.. they have apparently had it colour matched but wanted to leave it to cure before putting it on..(Monday)

He didn't mention the Style Visors (slimline weather shields) until I realised they weren't on the car  :fum: I made him write on the delivery docket Spoiler and weathershields to come :whistler: (were on my original contract of which I have a copy)

Don't like picking up a car in the rain (hard to spot any blemishes)

It does have some of that new car smell

Many happy miles with your brand new car. I believe that if it had the auto-wipers, this would be the best of your 26 27 cars so far.

*I have to post a music video for the occassion* turn the sound on this time :sweating:

Thanks Basis enjoyed them both, but we both liked the Roller Skate one best  :happydance: I used to sing that roller skate one (quite well) when I was younger  (believe it or not)  :-[

Just did 100 Kilometres return trip to Burnie (with Trish - for some Model Train Supplies)

Was 7c and quite stormy but cosy and serene in the new car .. Did an econony run via the scenic route and got 5.2 LPH on the way back (and didn't even have the Eco Button or EV mode set)  :D

@babis, Great to see you can still laugh  :goodjob2:

@Dazz, Very good figures and your motor still needs to loosen up too, (well, one of them at least,) which is what we say to the diesel owners here  :snigger:

Seems more volatile than the old car versus economy. If I use the performance to the full I think it could got to 7 pretty easily.

Halo is set to lock the doors at something like 25kph.. I accidentally found a menu in the stereo panel to set the lock and unlock defaults and other stuff.. :goodjob:

The audio has very nice touch screen with a fairly dark wallpaper which does not cause glare at night .. pity there is no easy way to change the background on the i30 FD model screen for those that complain

Another bonus I found by accident is that when I paired my mobile via bluetooth is saved my phone book although it appears you can't select those Contact and speed dial menus when you are moving

Gee you find some great stuff Babis  :goodjob:

I took the Hybrid over to show my friend Dorian Today.. He took it for a spin and liked pretty much everything about it except for the whir of the CVT when you decelerate (but he said he could get used to that)  :happydance:

I will post a couple of pix when the spoiler has been fitted 2moro and then some more when the windows are tinted and driving lights are fitted in a few weeks time.. :goodjob:

Pleased for you mate (despite the i40 bashing in this thread  ).

Looking forward to seeing your pix after the spoiler is fitted, I really like your colour and I have always liked those that change depending on the light :goodjob:

Thanks Brian, Sorry..  :-[  There are a real lot of things about the i40 that I like (if I thought I would have got a good deal on one I might have pursued it further)

With only one dealer in Tassie, that gives poor trade in allowances it is very hard to get a good deal. I think the fact the sedan has only been recently released and is in short supply makes negotiations a bit one sided. I would have had to wait at least 3 months for my chosen model too  :disapp:

It's ok, I was simply winding you up ;)

On the subject of colour I forgot to say I saw a really nice Audi A6 yesterday, looked to be a milk chocolate brown from a distance but as we got closer it turned into a really deep grape colour, it was gorgeous, except it was an Audi :P

Michelin Primacy LC Tyres

Velour will be a finger print magnet..

The interior is growing on me .. Note the Neoprene (wetsuit material) seat covers..

Some Stereo Detail..

More pix when everything else is done  :happydance:
