Hi.

Yesterday as I was starting out the ESP lamp came on (see video), the car would'nt do more than 10-20 km/h. I tried to turn the engine on and off, but nothing helped. I the switched off the ESP and the car was driving normally Again. After a few minutes i turned the ESP on Again and it worked normally. The engine lamp is still flashing and i will take it to the dealer's today for a diagnosis.

That's the CEL (Check Engine Light) that's flashing - it's saying something's wrong (like you didn't know).

Do you have an OBD code reader? It would tell you what's wrong, or as you say get over to your dealer.

Update. I am now at the dealer it Seems like the car has a lot of faults stored in the ECU. They have now spent a hour looking into the computer.

They'll find chips in there. Lots of chips. That'll be the problem - too many chips. Chip fest!

Yeah, do keep us updated :)

Appreciate that my "danlish" can contribute to some amusement  :D . Done at the dealers, it seems to be a neutral switch malfunction among many faults that caused the problem. I am currently on vacation and will have to take it to my local dealer next week.

Surprisingly enough, you only have the one current (pending) fault. The rest are historical. I've had "high voltage" and "low input" trouble codes recorded when I've reconnected the battery, though mine cleared themselves after a few engine starts (as historical ones should). I'm guessing quite a number of vehicles are driving around with historical trouble codes in their ECUs - it's the pending codes that stay current in the ECU and require attention.

Best of luck.

Hmm the story continues.
Went to my local dealer today, no faults and no problems.
This evening as I was leaving a roundabout it suddenly wouldn't accelerate as in taking revs. No warning lights. Put it into neutral and it revved up fine. Back in gear and it drove on with the yellow auto stop light on. When I parked it idled at 1200 rpm.
I then restarted the engine and everything was fine.
When I drove back it all repeated it self once more except for the warning light.
I will take it back to the dealer tomorrow.

Hej Jakob

Did they replace that neutral switch..

There was someone in here not long ago who had problems with that switch, but I can't remember who, but it was also something about the engine, I think.

Found the other thread, it was about Cruise control failure.

But, I think it could be the one annoying you.

I'm sure the ECU can read if the car is jsut revving up in neutral or if the car is accellerating with load, i.e overcomming drag an moving the 1300 kg of the car.

No  they didn't as there were no faults registered in the computer.

I don't think that there will be any problems with the dealer, I've done business there for 15 years and never had a bad experience .
I managed to get a small video of the problem and that should convince them.

But in reply #9 you posted the printout from the dealer, saying ...neutral switch malfuction.....Pending

Doesn't pending mean, not solved..

Yes, but the computer showed nothing today, which apparently means that everything has solved it self.  :D

Now I'm confused.. I thought you still had a problem? (and if it has miraculously come good, for how long??)

This morning all the initial faults came on again, so I was able to bring to the dealer while it was misbehaving.  :goodjob2:

The fault regarding the neutral switch was not present, but they replaced an electronic thingy and the car runs fine again.
Lets hope that this was it.

Had to visit the dealer again as the radio in the loaner (same as mine) refused to turn on.

As they fixed the problem (by disconnecting the battery), I talked to the mechanic working on mine. He told me that he had found a bundle of wires (the one leading from the ECU) that has been trapped under the engine protection cover. The cover had made several holes in the wires and he thought that this is the problem.

I will likely get the car back tomorrow and then we will see.
