Hi all :) Wasn't sure where to put this. Looking at some seat covers for my car (3 monkeys in the back seat an all  :D)

Finding them for my specific model seems to be tricky. I've found some custom made one's from a company called Motoquipe (anyone used these guys?) for $239 (including postage). I also contacted a few other places but most were at least double that.

I do have some canvas (airbag compliant) covers on the front. They fit okay, but only okay. I'm tossing up whether to buy a canvas cover for the back seat (benefit of this is it's water resistant)  from supercheap but wanted some opionions from peeps who paid for custom covers about whether they think the investment was worth it or not and maybe what you paid and where from? Do they fit better than regular universal covers (if you tried those first)?

I did call Hyundai but they said nothing is tested and they don't recommend covers, but we're gym goers and the kids are always covered in makeup/chocolate/anything else they may have sat on and I don't think scotch guards going to cover it!

Thanks for the thoughts! (Did a few searches on here but couldn't find what I was looking for)

I bought mine (side airbag compliant) from an autospeed type shop in Spain a couple of years ago. The i30 wasn't specifically listed (just said "modelos Hyundai") but it was a good fit. Cheap too - I think about E24, for all seats and headrests.

Looking at how the airbag compliance is achieved, I wouldn't be too worried if I found a good quality set and modified it to suit.

Autobarn had custom made seat covers, front pair or rear bench for A$149 on special recently (down from A$209 I think) but not sure if they still have... I though about getting some but decided I didn't need them.. Got genuine ones for the front seats in our "main" vehicle

I would get custom made if in your situation.

Hmm yeah, we were out there the other day. That's where we got the canvas one's. Thanks, I might ask them how much it'll be.

I'm also tempted to just not use any. Worried about the whole airbags not deploying thing (and then my parents pointed out that while I'm keeping our seats in pristine condition, the rest of the car is getting older anyway  :disapp:). Only thing I'm really worried about is gym sweat.

Why not carry a coup of towels with you to drape over the seats after going to the gym.

My 16yo daughter plays Aussie Rules Footy and that's what she does after a game as we have a 2 hour drive home after she plays.

This is what I want to do. Just have to convince the other half.

Me too! I'll just throw the whole family up there (or maybe husband on the roof, kids in the boot. That would all be legal right?

Reminds me of when I was a youngster in the late 50s.  My father would put me in the boot of our Vanguard (with his favourite sheep dog) and take me about 6 miles to our second farm on any number of various routes.  I had to guess which road we were on and at what location.

How legal would that be today.  I think it one of the reasons I have a good sense of direction and rarely get lost.  Oh what kids miss out on these days.

That's the mob I went through.

Obviously they are taking profit from the new model. There are others on ebay, don't know how much they want though.
