And yes Lorian, I also wanted him to find a human safe zone and begin re-populating the world in a long battle against the zombies rather than capitulating....

I too was somewhat disappointed if not unimpressed that it was really a redo of The Omega Man.

Most movies are a re-do of some other movie these days though surely! I suppose the oldies might associate more with Mr Heston but I think the plot was very well proposed to the younger generations by Will Smith.

I didn't even realise there were 2 different endings, until I got the DVD and saw the alternate.

The one i saw at the movies, was the not so happy ending. Which i loved and thought fitted very well.

But then on the DVD was the other, which i found to be a bit of a let down, and the happy ending some wanted.

I love this movie though, one of my favourites.

I've seen AN ending.
No idea which it is though.

However, a different ending 2wouldn't have made it any better in my opinion.

Same movie up until they're in the basement/lab, the zombies are coming in and bashing the glass...NOW, the last formula he had put into the zombie girl has started slowly to show its working, and Will Smith somehow realises the zombie patient is head zombie guy's girlfriend, so he manages to sort of reason and show the zombies that "look, i'm helping" kinda thing. so head zombie comes in, picks up his girlfriend zombie and walks out. then cut to the car with Will, Woman and kid driving off into the sunset, one assumes to the safe zone to cure the world. Very soppy.

Hmm.
I saw the grenade one.

But...................after that scene it shows the woman and kid arriving at a wall (?) protecting some sort of safe zone.

Thanks, K. I think the ending chosen for the cinemas was the better of the two.

just watched the alternate ending... didn't even realise my blu-ray disk had it on there...

i reckon its not as good!
