I've seen my FIRST i30 on the road today some 18 months after I bought mine.

Was behind it on the motorway and following the i30 brought shivers to my spine.

It was just like following mine as it was Stone Black

Is this a record for NOT seeing another i30?

When you saw it did you hear this sound?

Do you live in one of those town where everyone drives a Focus, Mini or Vauxhall or something? After "driving" through some UK towns in Google I was amazed how I kept seeing the same car again and again, Ford, Ford, Ford, Mini, Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Ford, ...

Spooky. Tonight I was being followed by a black i30 down the motorway.

Weird, innit?

Locally, say 10 miles way, there is a Vauxhall car plant on the Wirral and over in Liverpool there is Jaguar/ ford.

I've seen my FIRST i30 on the road today some 18 months after I bought mine.

I've started seeing them everywhere since I ordered mine. Before that I'd seen maybe 2 in town (including a silver one with a "P" plate that I drive by almost daily). The day after I placed my order (White SR), there was a White SR parked right out front of work!

I wonder !!!!!!!!!!! I have had a i30 1.6 CRD1 in black since March 1st and I travel twice a week from Leeds along the M62, M60 and M61 to somewhere near Bolton. Over the past week I have since at least one black i30. So rare to see one.
And can anyone tell me how to upload a photo of my i30 onto this website to go along with my details.

Hi dan100

I use the M61 twice a day near Bolton (but only as a conduit to take me to the M6 & M55) maybe it was me or eye30 you saw....?

Anyway, go to photobucket.com and register for a free account. Once logged in there, you can upload your photo(s) and they give you links which you can paste directly into a post on this club.

The link(s) will look like but will show up as a picture when viewed :)

What does the M stand for? and are they free of charge to use?
here in Sydney we have both M & F designations the F are freeways no charge, the M are motorways and all have charges, used to be toll booths but most have been scrapped for electronic tags.

Hi John mate.

My fault, assuming the "M" tag was global, when of course it isn't.

The M61, M55 and M6 (to name/number a few) tags the road as a Motorway. There are special rules which apply to Motorways regarding speed (maximum 70mph), when you can stop (ie, you can't, except in an emergency), what vehicles can use which lanes, and when, plus a host of other rules. Basically you can drive quickly and they are usually the fastest route between major destinations. Typical stuff for most countries but we call them Motorways.

One or two actually have toll points, but folk avoid those points by using bypasses. Generally, they are free to use

Here in Sydney they fixed it so on most motorways there is no way you can avoid paying the tole, they even have two separate toll motorways that join and no exit at the end of one so you get tolled twice and think you are on the same motorway. also people that fly in and hire cars and are not aware car get a sir charge of $75 on top of the car rental fee if they use the motorways as they don't have tags and rental company were getting bulk fines to pay. the rules are the same they just want your $, but speed limits are a joke they use reasons like "we are trying to keep noise leavels down" you have speed limits from 45mph to 65mph with a 10% speedo error tollorance but that is just here in NSW other states have different speed limits and different % error allowance. we have a lot of well sign posted fixed speed camera's too.

Well, I set off for work earlier than usual this morning and reached the M61 sliproad at 06:50 (it's usually around 07:10). On the final road (A58) before I joined the sliproad I was passed by a black i30 and he was motoring. Jotted his reg down and checked while at work - a 2.0L Premium diesel March '08 reg.

That makes it 6 sightings for me

Common as muck these things

Emm back on topic.. As I said, I see i30 every day, but I still haven't seen any styled i30 - the way some of you have it on this forum  :)
