In Poland yesterday evening was around -20C, but my i30 diesel also didn't freeze. On roads is more salt than snow. The salt (sodium chloride) melts ice and snow, but escalates corrosion our cars . Do they use salt for winter road maintenance in your country ?

C'mon gyus, stop whining. White ground and -17°C is just another, usual winter day here in Finland. I would be very disappointed if my (yet to come) i30cw CRDi would not able to do temperatures down to -30°C. Below that, few hickups are forgiveable...
Yes but your diesel is more "up to lower temps". The car isn't the problem, the problem is the fuel quality For us -17°C is quite low, considering our summers are often over 30°C, sometimes even close to 40°C. "Normal" winter temps over here are around -8°C.

Over here we're holding a steady -2°C which by comparison with Poland/Slovenia is almost mediterranean...
