Some time ago I fitted a clear mask rear bumper protector, but when I managed to bag the proper £50-ish Hyundai protector for next to nothing I couldn't resist. Here it is fitted.

Took about 2 minutes to fit when the car is clean. It has the usual good quality double side-tape but also clips in next to the light clusters. Its an excellent fit, just looks like it was always there.

I would like one as I've small scratches from taking stuff out of the boot.

Can you do a photo with the hatch open to see how it fits up to the light cluster?
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

I can take another photo tomorrow. But it's a really neat fit, it goes up to the rubber along the bottom and forms a neat edge at the bottom of the light cluster.

I was skeptical when I opened the box as it just looked like a "bit of plastic" but when fitted I like it lots. It has a slightly marbled-effective finish.

Yeah does look great, and it seemingly adds the look of the car.

Will be good to see with the hatch open.

I'd consider getting one too actually.

I want one too!  Seems a good idea to protect the vulnerable bit of paint on top of the rear bumper.
These are made by a co called "Rearguard", who will only supply in UK at least via Hyundai.
Sadly - I did buy one for my 8 week old i30 CRDi auto, but it did not fit snugly so I returned it.  So beware - the very latest UK "2011 model" cars have different bumpers and sill extensions (a bit like the edition model but not the same), and so these bumper guards and also mud flaps will not fit.  HUK dont seem very clear about this (the website still offers the accessories) and their customer services cant suggest when the parts will be available for this latest model.

Picture with boot open.

I should declare I only paid about £13 for this (no I can't get more!). It's is over-priced at the £46 retail price, but better than scraped paint.

Now that is a snug fit.

Looks as if it is part of the original fit

I see what mean by "next to nothing"

Now that would look so much better on a Mica black i30.

Yeah seen a few of those accessories floating around on eBay.....

Not sure about the chrome protector though.  I'm not a big fan of alot of chrome.

The door sills would be OK.

      Caloundra, Queensland.
That looks very similar to the one I had on my Impreza RV. I figure it came standard on th Subaru but maybe it was after market.
Anyway, a great idea.
I'll be in the UK in October. Wonder if I can fit it in my suitcase.

Looks good, was thinking of getting one of those for the boot.

In regards to the door scuff plates. I'm more interested in LED ones like these but I would prefer black or aluminium, ie non-shiny.

A few people have inquired, but I alas dont know anywhere that will ship to Australia.

I'm guess you'd be able to source it from any of the mobis resellers in Korea, the part number is H1276700

For anyone in the UK SGPetch have reduced the price (presumaby because they relaise it won't fit the edition). It now comes to about £30 inc VAT and postage

I would like something like that for my new car.. (it is part of the bumper in the getz as standard)

It is extemely easy to scratch the top of the bumper getting things in and out of the boot as I have discovered in several cars...
