Interesting that the Nulon container does not say B4...I assume then that it said B5?Yep, B5....but of course this is a different bottle to what you were looking at.The container that I quoted from a few posts back is 5W-30 Long Life Diesel and Petrol Engine Oil, Not the straight diesel oil. It is ACEA C3-04, A3/B4-04. API -CF (diesel spec)and API - SM ( petrol spec)Re the lists from Hy..... was there so many that you could not "publish them" on the forum...be interesting to see what they are and if there are any that are on 1 list but not the other. I take it that they do not any B5 on their list ? Or B4-08Not that many but I thought I'd scan the sheet and post it when I have access to a scanner. (Not home at the moment) Haven't had a chance to check if any of them are B5.Re the new and old containers...the one I referred to has AU72 printed on it ,or maybe it is AV 72, right down the bottom on the plastic if that helps. What we need is something from Hy... about their feeling re B5 Or for that matter B4-08 if any exists in the retail world.Keep it up guys, we will get there in the end .
The list from Hy that has been published here before seems not to really be a "recommended" list but just a list of available xW30/40 that meets B4.

Trev, I'll scan the list when I get home (I'm away for a few days) I don't have any idea of the details, just what's written on this sheet...Interestingly, the bloke I spoke to seemed to think we did have particulate filters in our i30's. When I said mine has a sticker on the engine cover saying it didn't, he then changed what he was saying to some do, some don't...so it's got me wondering whether the 2011 model now has one... :-\

I respect a company that lays it ALL on the line. Every stat, every specification, right down to the %ages of what base oil, if you read their Technical Data Sheet.For the petrol boys out there, they offer some amazingly stupid sheer points (which we dont need, but is impressive, eg. 10W-60), and for us, TOP DOG GLOBAL, EURO ENERGY and EURO SYN, appear very impressive.Considering one bad batch of oil (within reason) cant ruin an engine, i'm tempted to do a UOA on that stuff.Particularly the Euro Energy and the Top Dog interest me.Euro because it looks to have met our basic specifications, and those of quite a few others (no B4, but oh well), and the Top Dog, because i'm of the personal oppinion that those more robust types of oil, if kept thin, will offer greater protection (from reading diesel oil UOA's and tests). If i do it, i'll let you know. They tempt me SO MUCH.

Actually, it would be good generally if everyone used the nickname or that in signature instead of any other names.
Hi Everyone,For those in Australia and trying to work through the maze of which oil filter and oil to use in the 1.6 crdi, I finally got the right filter from my local Hyundai dealer. After the parts person took ages trying to work out the parts listing on the database, I was presented with three alternatives and told to take my pick. Immediately ruled our the spin on cannister type (for the petrol engine), then thanks to input on this forum identified the cartridge type with the part no. 26320 2A500. This is the correct filter for the later model crdis, mines MY11. (It's shorter than the older one)Next was to figure out which oil. I noted the placard on the engine cover that says my car is not fitted with the Particulation Filter and therefore needed to meet ACEA-B4. Penrite's website is brilliant where you can drill in the make, model and engine/transmission type for the car and it will give you full details of all lubricants to use. For the crankcase you get, Penrite HPR Diesel 5. I've gone with that.Just finished the oil filter and oil change and the job went well with the outcome realising a smoother, quieter engine at idle.I scored a 10 litre pack from Repco for $76 with my RACV 20% disc for the month of Feb. So at about for $40 for the required volume of oil and $30 for the oil filter service kit, $70 all up is pretty good.This has been the first oil change since the car was new and it's just done 7500. I'm glad I got the original fill out as it was very black and served the run in period. Nice to have a fresh fill and to finally have the specs all sorted. Hope this is a help to a few.Cheers, dki30

Well, I've booked my car in for it's 15,000k service and have decided to go with Castrol Edge 0W-40. I'll let you know how it goes...
