I had to replace the headlamp in my i30 and I remembered the joy of trying to do that in a such cramped space with no way to get a good grip.

So I designed and 3d printed a small tool that can unlock the assembly in 1 second with minimal force.

Demo video:

You can download the tool here :link: Printables

Nice. I'm TheAussieGonz using Thingiverse and cults3d (especially for pay downloads) for my designs.
How do you find Printables works for you? Is it just like Thingiverse?

I am also on Thingiverse. It is pretty much like thingiverse, but Printables has the Prusameter rewards, where you can redeem points for Prusament or even a Prusa Mini

I now have a ntebis headlamp removal tool and gotta say it works as intended...simples!!

Young, strong fingers and patience might mean you don't need one...but I don't have any of those.  :)

Thanks, Andrew.

Or waste pipe (assuming its the same as in the UK) with two square opposing notches cut in it. I keep mine with the spare tyre.

Lorian, I'm not sure exactly what a "waste pipe" is, but I can guess from your description.  And, yes, it would do the same job and maybe at a fraction of the cost.   Unfortunately, I am an addicted tool aficionado (fancy word for "snob") and have always fancied the elegant solution over the "inelegant" in my toolbox, with some pain to the wallet.

I have posted some photos below for those who aren't sure what the ntebis tool looks like and its operation.

Tool fitted over the headlamp base and turned clockwise to tighten the assembly.
