Hi all,

I’ve been searching around for a manufacturer that does a towbar for a 2023 N-Line Hatch but can’t find any manufacturers.
I’ve contacted Hyundai and they likewise are unable to find any photos, etc of an install.

Just wondering if someone has had this installed at Hyundai to see what it might look like? Or if someone has found a manufacturer that makes them.

The rear end looks the same to me 2020 - 2023 N-Line hatch.

A bit expensive but there are no other options and from reviews is very well made.

I just ordered one from there for my 2021 I30N DCT Hatch as they were the only place that I could get one including Hyundai Australia.

My towbar has turned up and looks to be of high quality , comes with a universal wiring kit that you have to attach to the existing car wiring using push connect wiring joiners but I am going to strip the wires and solder them for a more reliable solution  , it took about 2 weeks to arrive , shipped directly from Poland.

It also comes with an electronic control module that will disable the rear parking sensors if they are connected to a PDC ultrasonic module , my car doesn't and the ultrasonic sensors are connected directly to the BCM module so I can't use it but I can manually turn off the rear parking sensors with the button by the gear lever for when the trailer is used.

I have not fitted it yet as I have an issue with the clear coat peeling on the front and rear bumper which I hope will be fixed soon under warranty , after this issue is fixed I will fit the towbar and report back with photo's of the install.

The towbar will be completely invisible when not in use as the tongue is removable and the trailer plug pushes up out of the way behind the bumper , only a small section at the bottom back of the bumper needs to be cut away for clearance.

The website now says “manufactured 09/2018- 08/2020”

Setting up to remove bumper


Remove these screws from under the wheel arch


Remove these pop out fasteners


There are 2 bolts here that need to be removed


Remove tail lights and there is one pop off fastener and one bolt that needs to be removed from each side


Unplug exhaust valve


The bumper is now ready to be removed , these clips which are on each side above the wheel arches need to be carefully disengaged , I started at the bottom with a narrow trim removal tool to do this  , it is a bit fiddly and awkward to do but once these are disengaged from each side the bumper should now be loose.


Disconnect these plugs before removing the bumper

This piece needs to be removed from the bumper and then the wiring removed from the black piece

I managed to pull the wiring loom that needed to come from the inside of the car to the trailer plug through this existing wiring loom , with much persistence and some lubricant


This is what I did to get access to the rear interior for the wiring


The wiring , color codes are as follows
The car wiring color is before the plugs that go to each tail light
Control Module  -   Car wiring
Yellow - Blue (Left Indicator)
Black - Green with black stripe (Left Tail Light)
Red - Green (Left Stop Light)
Green - Red (Right Indicator)
Brown - Brown with Black Stripe (Right Tail Light)
Red with inline fuse - Yellow (Power wired to the 12V outlet on the rear right side of the vehicle)
Black and white wire with a ring terminal - Car chassis (I used the same post I mounted the control module too) 


End result

There is a small piece that needs to be cut out from the back bottom of the bumper , I didn't take a photo but it was easy to do , I used a jigsaw and a file to clean it up.

It took me most of the day just to mount the towbar and refit the bumper , I wired it up to the control module the following day.

Hope it helps someone if they are looking to do this and it also proves that there is a bumper available for the I30N FL Hatch.
