Welcome to the forum and as stated, great choice of car.
Thanks for the welcome everyone! I'm enjoying driving the car! I live in Sydney, NSW. I will post some pics of the red rocket soon! It just had it's first service. I do have a couple of questions!!! Do any of you use e10 fuel? and if so, what are the benefits & what are the problems? Also, what are the benefits of driving in eco mode? Thanks!!
Also, what are the benefits of driving in eco mode? Thanks!!
E10 does not have the same energy value as normal fuel, that is why it's cheaper at the pump<
I recently purchased a brand new 2012 Hyundai i30 Active in Auto and bright red colour! I've joined up to learn more about my car and can't wait to read through the posts

Locally produced ethanol attracts a fuel excise rebate of 38c per litre (which matches the excise tax exactly), and this will continue until 30 June 2011. So effectively it is tax-free right now. But after this date the excise tax will be applied to ethanol (and biodiesel) on a sliding scale until it reaches half the excise on conventional fuel by 2015.

My understanding is that the govt subsidises the producers but I'm not aware of subsidies at the pump. Of course there is so much excise on fuel, who can tell. It hasn't set the world on fire because it just isn't marketed that way. I use it when possible in my petrol commodore. As a consumer, I wouldn't buy the stuff if it was the same price but didn't go as far.

@elz89,Well it is better for the planet as it is a renewable resource, if that makes any difference to you. It's better for future generations.
