Is that an i30?  There is no way an 080x camera will fit directly in front of my MY2011 FD  i30 mirror.
Yes! it's an i30 GD if you look at my signature  :)

Try tilting the mirror stem all the way to the roof and just angle the mirror itself, that gives me a good 3.5 inches from back of mirror to the viewing screen of the cam.

Thank you.

In the Czech built FD the mirror is on a fixed arm from a base stuck to the glass.   There is no adjustment of the arm at the base only at  the mirror on the arm ball end.  Hence, with a very small gap there is no way to  fit anything directly in front of the mirror.  Even at the passenger side where the mirror is tilted further from the glass the large black hatched area would obstruct a camera's view.

Mines a Czech build GD ( GDe )

As an option you could always upgrade the mirror but I've never had an FD model so I don't really know what options there are for you.

Today I finally got round to fitting the 0806 upgrading from my broken 0801 after someone going the other way clipped my wing mirror this morning whilst about 2 feet into my lane!  . Not a bad deal from these guys ':link: Blueskysea Mini 0806 GPS Ambarella A7LA50 OV4689 HD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics;  with the magnetic filter included. I'm looking forward to seeing what difference the amended resolution makes to the overall picture quality.
